CPAP also known as Continuous (or Constant) Positive Airway Pressure is a treatment that assists the patient in breathing.
The CPAP device uses mild air pressure to keep the airways open by placing the mask or other device over the mouth and nose. The mild pressure from CPAP can prevent the patient’s airway from collapsing or becoming blocked.
CPAP treatment involves a CPAP machine, which has three main parts:
• A mask or other device that fits over your nose or your nose and mouth.
